Technology has made a huge impact on the way all of us do our work, but it has been particularly important for people with disabilities because it often represents the best way, or the only way, for people with disabilities to perform certain jobs that people without disabilities do in other ways. Access to rewarding employment for people with disabilities is becoming easier and technology is playing a significant part in making this happen.
There are many different types of assistive technologies that might be used by a person with a disability to enable them to do their job. Most would qualify for the Workplace Equipment Adaptation Grant from FÁS which is a maximum grant of €6,348.70 and is available towards the cost of adaptations to premises or equipment.
