In The Home
Our home is central to our comfort, security and independence. Being able to do what we need to do, when we want to do it is something most people take for granted. In fact, most of us do not think about the demands on our home until a situation arises that makes it difficult to function independently. The situation may be the onset of an illness, an accident, or simply growing older but there is no reason why our home can not be adapted to suit our changing needs.
This could mean introducing some low-tech aids and appliances to help us carry out our daily tasks, or changing the physical structure to make it more suitable to our needs, and high-tech innovations now mean we can control much of our home environment with just the touch of a button. There are now more options than ever before.
