The Liberty Open Step Lift can be wall mounted or free standing and can be installed internally or externally. It has a maximum lifting height of 198cm and is designed to enable wheelchair users to move between levels of flooring such as stairs. The lift has a non-slip floor fitted as standard and the finish of the lift is a creamy-white.

The lift is operated with internal controls but alternatively can be used with the switches on either level. An external ramp gives entry to the lift then folds up when the lift is moving. An interlocked gate at the upper level prevents access unless the platform is at its raised level and a platform barrier and side rail offer security when the lift is in motion. The platform will not lower if obstructed and safety edges prevent trapping of the fingers. A hydraulic ram prevents the lift descending should there be hydraulic failure and manual lowering is available for a power failure.
