Stairaid

The Stairaid is a handgrip, designed to provide support while going up or down stairs.

It glides along a toothed strip that is affixed underneath the stair-rail. The grip attaches to the teeth on the strip to hold the grip in a fixed position.

This provides stable support when the user wants to rest, while moving it slightly outward to release the grip allows it to glide smoothly along the rail when the user wants to proceed up or down the stairs.

The Stairaid can be used as a rehabilitation aid to assist a person recovering from injury or as a continual support to an elderly person and can be easily removed when not required.
