The Cirque Easy Cat Touchpad can be used as an alternative to a computer mouse. The user moves a finger over the smooth surface to move the cursor. Clicking is achieved by tapping on the pad, or pressing on the buttons. Both left and right click functions are possible by tapping on specific areas of the touchpad. The right-click area of the pad has a slightly different texture and colour, to make it easy to distinguish from the left-click area.

The Cirque Easy Cat Touchpad also supports dragging, highlighting and scrolling. The touchpad is designed to enable the user to continue to move the cursor after the edge of the touchpad is reached.
