This set is designed to
measure the volume of hand and distal forearm oedema. Oedema is
swelling caused by an excess acummulation of
fluid in tissue.
As the hand and
forearm are immersed in the water, water is displaced into a jug.
The water in the jug is then poured into a graduated
cylinder to accurately measure the volume and therefore the level
of swelling. This set is used to monitor oedema-reducing
treatments.
