This exercise machine moves the users leg through a range of different movements to strengthen and increase range of motion in the hip joint. It controls abduction, extension, flexion and external rotation of the hip joint. The user straps their leg and foot into the device and lies back to use the machine.

The range-of-motion (ROM) controls adjust from 0° to 120° of hip flexion. Knee flexion can be block at different angles so the hamstring muscles are relaxed during hip flexion to reduce pain on the hip joint. The device has a shock-absorbing feature, which transfers the weight of the leg off the injured hip joint.
