Alpha Response is a semi-automatic pressure-relief system that consists of a mattress replacement, a mattress overlay, and a seat cushion. The system can detect when a user is raised into a sitting position and automatically increases the head and standard cell pressures to provide additional support and redistribute pressure accordingly.

The Alpha Response system has two therapy modes: an alternating mode which redistributes pressure every 10 minutes; and a constant lower pressure mode which reduces cell pressure and keeps it constant to lower the pressure exerted on the body.
