Thumb Loop

This splint is designed to treat individuals with spasticity. It positions the hand and wrist and helps decrease tone. The splint consists of a strap that wraps around the wrist and loops around the thumb. It leaves the thumb and fingers free to facilitate functional hand use.

The thumb loop can be tightened or loosened to position the thumb at different angles from the hand. It can be adjusted to pull the wrist into extension and provide radial or palmar abduction. This thumb splint improves the users hand position when gripping, manipulating and releasing objects.
