This soft, closed-cell foam padding can be used to line splints and casts for comfort. The material has a self-adhesive backing, and is suitable for use with thermoplastic splints and for general padding. This padding material can be added to the splint before immersing it in water. It can be used when treating patients who are hypersensitive to pressure or heat. It is supplied in sheets, which can be cut to size.
Low-Tack Polycushion Padding is also available. This padding has a milder self-adhesive backing, which makes is easy to remove and reapply. This may be helpful for splints that require regular padding changes.
