Aquaplast™ Watercolours™

Aquaplast™ Watercolours™

Assist Ireland Product ID: 2877

This range of brightly coloured Aquaplast™ splinting material is designed for hand and upper limb splinting. It is suitable for paediatric splinting and may be used in situations where white splints are unsuitable, for example where stains may show.

The material is cut to size and moulded to the user's hand to make a fitted splint. It can be heated and reheated repeatedly. Heating the material for varying amounts of time gives variable working times before the material sets. When heated, the material becomes transparent for greater observation when applying. A temporary bond can be achieved by using the wrap and tack technique, where the edges are pinched together. For a permanent bond, remove the coating on the material by scraping it away with a knife, or using spirits.

The optional perforations in the material ventilate the splinted area, allowing for normal evaporation. A paediatric pack is also available which contains a range of smaller non-stick coloured sheets, especially designed for use with children. Multicolour packs of Watercolours™ sheeting (46cm x 41cm) are also available in either 'Bold' or 'Pastel' colours.
