This splinting material has
a maximum resistance to stretch. It is designed for neurological
and tonal splints, and functional resting and lower limb positional
splints. The material is cut to size and moulded to the users limb
to make a fitted splint.
Heating the 3.2mm material for one minute at 65°-70°
Celsius gives four to six minutes working time before the bond
sets. When the material is heated, it becomes slightly tacky for
convenient positioning. Pinching the heated edges together gives a
permanent bond. The splint is rigid after setting, and does not
need reinforcement. Solid or one percent perforated sheets of this
material are available.
A light version of this material is available, the Ezeform Light
Splinting Material. It is 1.6mm thick, and is designed
for lightweight, rigid splints.
