These attendant-controlled bathing hoists are used to transfer users to and from a bath. They consist of a plastic, moulded safety chair and a floor-fixed vertical column.
The power unit at the top of the column can be controlled by a handheld remote control, which is powered by a detachable, rechargeable battery. The user sits in the plastic moulded chair and can be raised, rotated, and lowered into the bath. The seat has armrests that raise out of the way to aid transfers and is perforated for drainage.
The chair can be detached from the hoist and attached to a separate chassis that can be used as an attendant-controlled shower or toilet chair with footrest and braked castors.
