Rifton Activity Chair

The Rifton Activity Chair is an adaptable chair that provides support to children and adults who have motor control difficulties during activities. It can be adjusted without the need for tools and these adjustments are possible while the user is seated in the chair.

Two chair base options are available in three sizes: small, medium and large. The Hi/Lo base sits on four wheels and is height-adjustable, making it suitable for use with a wide range of activities. The Standard base has four chair legs and is suitable for regular classroom use. The Standard version is suitable for children with autism who need to use their own generated motion (self-stimming) for calmness. Optional springs on the chair allow for this. The spring column can be locked when not in use.

The Rifton Activity Chair is a tilt-in-space chair capable of a tilt of 15° forward and 25° back when on the Hi/Lo base and a tilt of 15° forward and 15° back when on the Standard base. A choice of arm rests is available: wooden – both height and angle can be adjusted, or forearm prompts – arms can be adjusted to facilitate the level of head and body control required.

A footpump is available with the medium and large Hi/Low based chairs. The chair can be lowered till the person's feet reach the floor or raised up to a table height of 81cm. The small Hi/Lo base has a gas spring for adjusting the height. The seat pads are made from polyurethane foam, and have a PU–coated fabric cover available in red, blue or beige. A range of optional accessories are available for specific needs.
