The Kimba Cross is a new
three-wheeled outdoor mobility base for use with the Kimba seats as
well as individual seating shells.
The design, with oval aluminium tubes and a telescoping frame,
not only looks good but is also highly functional: the telescoping
frame allows seating units of different sizes to be mounted onto
the mobility base, thus promising a long and useful life, while
also allowing the wheelbase to be increased for improved
stability.
The Kimba Cross is comfortable for the user but also easy for
the attendant to handle on rough terrain. Thanks to the swiveling
front wheel, which is easily mounted with quick-release lock, the
Kimba Cross is highly manoeuvreable even in narrow rooms. It is
also possible to change the Kimba Cross into a bicycle trailer to
increase its operational range.
In combination with a Kimba seating unit, the child's sitting
posture, which is important from therapeutic and medical aspects,
can also be retained because the seat can be adjusted to fit
individual body proportions and offers good support with its pad
and fixation systems. It is also possible to variably change the
position of the seat from an active sitting posture for trunk
muscle stimulation to a rest position for relaxation.
For transport, the seat can easily be removed from the mobility
base. The mobility base can be folded and disassembled and has a
compact folding size.
