AssistIreland.ie wins Best Accessible Website at Irish eGovernment Awards 2005
Comhairle's assistireland.ie web-based information resource for people with disability and aging won the coveted recognition for the most accessible online service at the recent Irish eGovernment Awards Ceremony, Trinity College, Dublin held on February 16th, 2005.
This award, based on the judging criteria demonstrates outstanding commitment and innovation in its approach and delivery to the highest standards in accessibility on the World Wide Web.

This eGovernment Accessible Award was judged on the following criteria:
- Human accessibility
- Content
- Access to information and resources
- Compliance with WAI WCAG 1.0 or similar global standards
- Inclusion of persons with disability in project
